【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoversanenginetestprocedureforthemeasurementoftheeffectsofautomotiveengineoilsonthefueleconomyofpassengercarsandlight-duty3856kg(8500lb)orlessgrossvehicleweighttrucks.Thetestsareconductedusingaspecified4.6-Lspark-ignitionengineonadynamometerteststand.Itappliestomultiviscositygradeoilsusedintheseapplications.ThistestmethodalsoprovidesfortherunningofanabbreviatedlengthtestthatisreferredtoastheVIBSJ.TheprocedureforVIBSJisidenticaltotheSequenceVIBwiththeexceptionoftheitemsspecificallylistedin.TheproceduremodificationslistedinrefertothecorrespondingsectionoftheSequenceVIBtestmethod.Theunitvaluesstatedinthistestmethodshallberegardedasthestandard.Valuesgiveninparenthesesareprovidedforinformationpurposesonly.SIunitsareconsideredtheprimaryunitsforthistestmethod.TheonlyexceptioniswherethereisnodirectSIequivalentsuchasscrewthreads,nationalpipethreads/diameters,tubingsize,andsoforth.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Thistestmethodisarrangedasfollows:
