【摘要】:ThistestmethodprovidesameansofdeterminingcompliancewithaspecificationlimitforVicattimeofsetting.Refertotheappropriatespecificationforthecementtodetermineifthistestmethodisusedforspecificationcompliance.Timeofsettingmeasuredbythismethodwillnotnecessarilyprovidethesameresultsasthetimeofsettingofhydrauliccementpastemeasuredbyothermethods,orthetimeofsettingofmortarorconcrete.1.1ThesetestmethodsdeterminethetimeofsettingofhydrauliccementbymeansoftheVicatneedle.Twotestmethodsaregiven;MethodAistheReferenceTestMethodusingthemanuallyoperatedstandardVicatapparatus,whileMethodBpermitstheuseofanautomaticVicatmachinethathas,inaccordancewiththequalificationrequirementsofthismethod,demonstratedacceptableperformance.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.See1.4foraspecificwarningstatement.1.4Warningx2014;Freshhydrauliccementitiousmixturesarecausticandmaycausechemicalburnstoskinandtissueuponprolongedexposure.Theuseofgloves,protectiveclothing,andeyeprotectionisrecommended.Washcontactareawithcopiousamountsofwateraftercontact.Washeyesforaminimumof15min.Avoidexposureofthebodytoclothingsaturatedwiththeliquidphaseoftheunhardenedmaterial.Removecontaminatedclothingimmediatelyafterexposure.1.5Thetextofthisstandardreferencesnotesandfootnoteswhichprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesandfootnotes(excludingthoseintablesandfigures)shallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthestandard.Note18212;ForthemethodfordeterminingthetimeofsettingbyGillmoreneedles,seeTestMethodC266.
